Artist in Residence

yuzakaでは、アーティストに滞在場所を提供し、この土地と関わっていただき、創作活動の支援と、この土地で生み出された作品を街やyuzakaへ残していただく活動を実施しています。

これまで、様々なアーティストやアーティストの卵の方々がyuzakaと関わり、そして様々なアート作品を残していっていただきました。

​

温泉や湧水、森や川といったこの土地が持つ豊かな自然、鉱山や湯治場としてかつて栄えたコンテクスト、そして秘められた縄文のパワーなどと、現代アートの力を融合・化学反応させ、様々なカタチに表現していただく活動を後押ししています。

「宿」という拠点性を活かしての交流や表現の場の提供や、アーティストの方々への支援を通して、アートの力により十和田大湯地区が再び光を放つ場所となるように、地域への貢献を目的としています。

本プロジェクトは現在進行中で、益々多くのアーティストたちが大湯温泉に関わり始めています。

We provide artists with a place to stay and support their creative activities while interacting with this land. And we support activities to leave the works created in this land to the village and yuzaka.

​​

Until now, various artists and aspiring artists have been involved with yuzaka, and had left behind various works of art.

​​

This land has rich nature such as hot springs, spring water, forests and rivers, the context that once flourished as a mine and a hot spring resort, and the hidden energy of the Jomon era. By fusing that with the power of contemporary art, we support creative activities that express in various forms.

 

The aim is to contribute to the local community by providing a place for exchange and expression that makes use of the base of an "inn" and by supporting artists, so that this place will shine again through the power of art.

This project is currently underway, and more and more artists are getting involved with this land, Oyu Onsen.
